I have gone through all my files repeatedly with a Tag editor to
assure that all the tags are correct. Yet when I upload them into my
Zen Micro they are alphabetical.

When I look at the file details while in the Micro, the files have no
"Track Number". What is happening to the files in between the
transfer?

What are you using to transfer? I remember some software seemed to struggle
with this.

Also what are you using as a tag editor? There are various tag versions, and
I've also seen taggers cause problems in this regard.

I'm using TagScanner:

And to transfer the songs I'm using Creative's Organizer that came
with the player.

Hmmm. Try using another tagging program, and make sure it's writing just to
one of the tag versions e.g. v2. Also use MediaSource to have a look at the
file, if possible, when on the PC to see if it's reading the track number. I
believe you can go to track properties for a file in its Media Library.

What firmware version are you using?
